Wine Giare The antique giare (large containers) are at least 100 years old and come from southern Italy. There are made entirely by hand and were fired in a wood-burning kiln. The giara was used to store wine. A plate was cemented over the top, and wine was drawn from a spigot near the bottom. These pieces are great inside or out. Sizes vary from 40" to 50" tall.
