The Parrucca Collection

Color is the first impression made by each handmade Italian pottery piece in the “Parrucca Collection”.  The colors of sunny Sicily and the primitive style, intrinsic to this collection of whimsical ceramics, reveal glimpses of the Byzantine tradition as seen in the presentation of daily life.

The Parrucca pottery workshop is made up mostly of family members dedicated to presenting hand painted scenes depicting Sicilian lifestyles for decorative and practical use in the home. The colors, designs and utility of these ceramic cups, cache pots, bowls, decanters, rooster pitchers, wedding plates, table tops, cookie jars, clocks, spoon rests, and more, make them very desirable and collectible. Furthermore, larger pieces, such as platters, table tops, bowls and urns, are not standardized. Each of the larger pieces has a certain, defined subject, but the artists are allowed to depict each subject as they wish.  Most of the pieces have holes in the back for hanging.  NOTE: Some items in this collection can come assorted and may vary slightly in design from catalog photos.
